Sportians Super League to begin from June 5 in Nagpur

Nagpur: The second season of Sportians Super League will commence from June 5 in Nagpur.

A press conference was held at the Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur on Wednesday. Ninad Shelgaokar, Shantanu Motghare, Ashish Kalode, Atul Pandit along with their team of event organisers of Sportians Super League were present.

The Sportians Soccer schools aim to nurture grassroots and youth kids to give a positive introduction to the new entrants in sports, offering a safe and enjoyable environment in order to build a footballing culture.

Sportians Super League is going to be Central India’s biggest grassroots football league consisting of 300 players across 4 weeks to give them more game time and exposure, being a catalyst in their growth. Making the effort to achieve 40-50 matches for kids as per FIFA and AFC and AIFF grassroots plan.

All matches will be played at Joggers Park Football Ground managed by KAVA and Sportians. Starting from June 5, the tournament will be held till the last week of June on every Sunday.

The tournament has been divided into five age groups under 8, under 10, under 12, under 15, and under 18. Every Sunday the teams will meet at Joggers Park, Sneh Nagar, where the competition will be held and each team will play 2 matches, till Under 12 age group girls and boys will play together.

Format of the league:

Under 8: 3 a side
Under 10 and 12: 5 a side
Under 15 and 18: 7 a side

Till now 35 teams from ages 6 to 18 have registered for the competition. Every week best performers will be felicitated, medals and trophies will be given to encourage children and develop a sense of achievement.
