Nagpur: A 75-year-old man met with a tragic end after an unidentified vehicle knocked him down near Om Sai Nagar Gate under Koradi police station on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Ramnaresh Laxman Chaudhary, a resident of Flat No. 201, Siddharth Residency, Om Nagar.
Police said Ramnaresh had gone for evening walk on Sunday, as a part of his daily routine. Done with the walk, when he was crossing Om Sai Nagar Gate, near Sai Shraddha Traders at around 7.30 pm, some unidentified vehicle dashed him from behind. The impact was so severe that Ramnaresh fell off the road and sustained injuries on his back and head. Some locals then alerted Koradi police station and rushed Ramnaresh to Alexis Hospital. At around 8.30 pm, the doctors had pronounced him dead.
Based on the complaint lodged by Ramnaresh’s son Kalikant (38), Koradi police have booked the unidentified accused under the relevant Sections of the IPC and started the investigation into the matter.
