Nagpur: A 64-year old man was killed when the two-wheeler he was riding in was hit by a rashly driven truck in Kalamna area on Tuesday. The driver of the killer truck fled the spot fearing backlash from nearby people.
The deceased Vasudeo Budhaji Hatwar (64), resident of Plot No. 38, Hiwrinagar, was going on his Activa (MH-49/AH 1048) around 1 pm on Tuesday. Midway near Shwetla Godown on Bhandara Road, a 10-wheeler truck (WB-23/B 9461) hit his Activa with forceful impact. As a result, Vasudeo fell on the road and suffered grievous injuries. Nearby people took him to Mayo Hospital but doctors pronounced him brought dead. The driver of the killer truck fled the spot fearing angry reaction from the people.
Kalamna PSI D B Thakre has registered a case against the unidentified truck driver under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.
