Nagpur: A rashly driven truck knocked a man dead in Hingna area here on Monday night. The driver of the killer truck reportedly fled the spot leaving behind his vehicle fearing public wrath.
The deceased Lokram Gopichand Banote of Mohgaon Jhilpi in Hingna area was returning home around 10 pm on Monday on his motorcycle (MH-31/BP 1926). As Lokram was nearing Mohgaon Jhilpi Shivar, the speeding truck (MH-31/AP 5274) rammed his motorcycle from front and left him critically injured. Lokram died on the spot even before medical help could be provided to him. The unidentified truck driver fled the spot leaving behind his vehicle fearing backlash from the angry people.
Hingna WPSI S Yavale has registered a case against the absconding truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sub-Section 184 of Motor Vehicle Act and searching for him.
