Injured Abhijeet was at Dande hospital
Nagpur News :A youth was killed and another injured when a speeding truck crushed the duo on Tuesday. The accident took place at 8.15 pm on Amravati road near Futala.
According to sources, Sumit Harishchandra Gire (27), a resident of Manewada and Abhijeet Patil (29), a resident of Umred road were riding on a motorcycle on Amravati road towards Ravinagar square. The duo were following a car and were followed by a truck containing oil cans (MH 36 S-1565).
The truck driver increased the speed of the truck hitting the bike which hit the car in turn.
Despite this, the truck driver did not slow down and crushed the bike between it and the car. Sumit died on the spot while Abhijeet was severely injured. Abhijeet was rushed to Dande hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The truck driver fled the spot after the accident.

Tension prevailed on the spot but that didn’t stop some people from stealing the oil cans from the truck. A complaint was lodged at Ambazari police and the matter is being investigated by PI Anil Katkade and PSI Prashant Jadhav.
