Speeding Tata Safari rams auto, driver killed

Nagpur: An auto driver was killed as a speeding Tata Safari car rammed his vehicle on Kamptee-Kalamna Road on Thursday night. A passenger travelling in the auto was injured severely. The accused car driver has been arrested.

The deceased Gulzar Sheikh Adib Sheikh (40), resident of Shantinagar, was driving his auto (MH-49/AR 1104). A passenger named Arsiya Sirin Mohd Altaf alias Babubhai Raeen (23), resident of Satranjipura, was travelling in his auto that was going towards Kalamna from Kamptee. Midway, the rashly driven Tata Safari car (MH-25/R 2000) rammed into Gulzar’s auto in great speed. The impact caused grievous injuries to Gulzar and he on the spot while Arsiya was injured.

New Kamptee Woman PSI Meshram, based on a complaint lodged by Arsiya, booked the Tata Safari car driver Tausif Khan Wahid Khan under Sections 279, 337, 338, 304(A), 427 of the IPC read with Section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and arrested him.
