Nagpur: In a ghastly incident, a recklessly driven dumper truck crushed a man to death in Sadar area here on the midnight of Monday. The river of the killer truck along with his vehicle fled the spot after the mishap and is being searched by cops.
A resident of Plot No. 26, Sai Naik Housing Society, Zingabai Takli, Godhni Road, Ashish Ravindra Jachak (37), was going towards Kadbi Square from Goddigodam Square on his two-wheeler (MH-31/EL 3041) around 0030 hours of Monday. As Ashish reached in front of Punjab Restaurant in midway, a rashly driven dumper truck hit his two-wheeler with forceful impact. As a result, Ashish fell on the road and came under the wheels of the speeding truck. The heavy vehicle ran over Ashish’s abdomen and he dies on the spot. The river of the killer truck along with his vehicle fled the spot after the mishap.
Sadar PSI Vinod Matre, based on a complaint lodged by Ashish Babanrao Ingle (42), resident of Plot No. 42, Parvati Sahanivas, Ingle Layout, Mankapur, booked the accused truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and mounted a search to nab him.
