
Nagpur: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 38-year-old man in Nagpur after he was run over by a speeding Aapli Bus on Kamptee Road.
The deceased has been identified as Yogesh Gajanan Kawale, a resident of Kamna Nagar in Kalamna. The incident occurred around 11:30 am on April 30 near Automotive Chowk under the jurisdiction of Kapil Nagar Police Station.
According to police, Yogesh was walking along the road when an Aapli Bus (MH 40 BL 3841), driven by Devanand Rammilan Khisi (49), allegedly lost control while driving at high speed and in a negligent manner. The bus first collided with an electric vehicle (MH 49 BX 8459) and then struck Yogesh from the front.
The impact was severe, and the victim was dragged for some distance, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s brother Mangesh Gajanan Kawale (42), a case has been registered against the bus driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act, including charges of rash and negligent driving.
Police have initiated further investigation into the incident.
