Special squad raids farmhouse, nabs 17 gamblers red-handed

Nagpur: In a decisive move, the Special Squad led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone V), Niketan Kadam, conducted a raid at Sangam Farmhouse located in Tara Nagar within the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station. The operation resulted in the apprehension of 17 individuals who were caught red-handed engaging in card gambling during the early hours of Thursday.

Law enforcement confiscated a significant sum of cash, along with five motorcycles, three four-wheelers, and a cache of playing cards, totaling over Rs 25.99 lakh.

The individuals involved have been identified as Vikrant Vijay Kangale (39), Ganesh Tarabahadur Rana (44), Gunwant Anandraoji Makde (40), Suresh Pralhad Sahare (50), Chandrashekhar Kashinath Mathure (49), Prakash Ganpatraoji Bhalavi (45), Sushil Dilipraoji Shinde (32), Amarendrasingh Maheshwarsingh (45), Mohan Bapurao Makde (52), residents of Bhilgaon; Preetam Gajanan Nagdive (35), Prakash Gajanan Nagdive (45), Nitin Shankarrao Barbatkar (40), Siddharth Baburao Nagdive (35), residents of Pili Nadi; Swapnil Pundlik Gudadhe (31), Aniket Mohandas Kumbhre (28), residents of Lashkaribag; Akshay Krishnarao Madavi (32), a resident of Rishikesh Town, Yashodhara Nagar, and Prakash Chandrabhanji Mundle (38), a resident of Uppalwadi.

The accused are facing charges under relevant sections of the Gambling Act.”
