Nagpur/Mumbai: The State Cabinet on Tuesday decided to convene a special one-day session of the Legislature on May 17 to pass the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill and other related legislations.
Parliament has passed the Central GST and Integrated GST Bill and the President has already given his assent to the Bill.
The GST is expected to roll out from July 1. The special session of both Houses of the State Legislature will be held on May 17 to pass the state specific GST Bill. The Maharashtra Legislature had in a special sitting in August last year ratified the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Constitutional Amendment Bill passed by the Parliament.
