So-called scribe heckles staff at NMC’s Lakadganj Zone, damages property

Nagpur: A ‘so-called’ journalist on Tuesday went on rampage in the office of Lakadganj Zone of NMC, heckled and abused Assistant Superintendent and other staff and damaged furniture and computers. The reason behind the ‘journalist’ going furious could not be ascertained immediately. The accused has been booked.

A resident of Plot No. 27, New Diamond Nagar, Narendra Anandrao Bawankar (52) is posted as Assistant Superintendent in NMC’s Lakadganj Zone No. 8. Around 4 pm on Tuesday, Bawankar was sitting in his office. At the same time, the accused Indramani Hoshilaprasad Tiwari (65), resident of Plot No. 1360, Deshpande Layout, barged into the office of Bawankar and told him he is a ‘journalist.’ Thereafter, the accused hurled abuses and manhandled Bawankar and other staff. The accused ‘scribe’ also damaged furniture and computers of Zone office.

Lakagdanj Woman PSI R Gedam, acting on the complaint of Bawankar, booked the ‘so-called’ accused journalist Indramani Tiwari under Sections 353, 188, 332 of the IPC read with Sections 3, 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and started investigation.
