Nagpur: The power franchisee SNDL, taking the violation of safety norms seriously, has warned the the Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandals to initiate corrective measures forthwith to avoid tragedies occurring due to short circuits.

The survey on the part of SNDL covering three-fourth of city, revealed that organizers have thrown caution to wind while erecting the pandals. SNDL has begun issuing notices to sarvajanik mandals to take corrective measures. It has given an ultimatum to the organizers to stick to norms and warned that in case of any accidents the company will not be responsible in any way.

SNDL said about 130 mandals have opted for official temporary connection, which is less as compared to 180 mandals during the last year. The Vigilance and Safety drive on part of SNDL revealed that safety norms have been trampled with impunity. At one of the place in Jaripatka area, the overhead 440 Volts LT network has been taken inside the pandal and can prove to be disastrous in case of any eventuality. The SNDL teams are visiting the organizers and requesting them to practice safety norms.

In one such matter, SNDL also had to lodge a complaint against the organizer in view of the public lives at stake. This kind of carelessness is seen across entire DF area at various places including Kamal Chowk, Binaki, Indora, Jaripatka amongst others. It has requested other small scale organizers to ensure compliance to all safety measures during the process and thus enjoy a safe Ganeshutsav.
