SNDL exposed as meter found faulty in a test conducted by MSEDCL

Nagpur News: As many as 9 meters were found faulty out of 35 tested in the laboratory of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The meters were tested on the instance of power distribution company – SNDL.

The company   had claimed in its press release that 34 meters tested at the MSEDCL laboratory had tested OK. However, the report submitted by executive engineer (testing) to nodal officers clearly states two meters were faulty. MSEDCL has also unofficially advised the company to replace all the nine meters.

SNDL had got the 35 meters tested in presence of public representatives on Wednesday. One meter was found to show readings even after zero load and was immediately declared faulty. Another eight were showing erratic readings.

SNDL than requested MSEDCL to again test these meters.There was high drama in MSEDCL office on Thursday morning when the local officials refused a retest. Only after the senior officials from Mumbai cleared it meter was retested.
