surveNagpur: Keeping the situation of growing unemployment in view, employment-oriented education and training to youths is a must. Therefore, study the skills-gaps in various industries of Nagpur district, as well as suitable training programmes be worked out so that there is a proper link between requirement of skilled man power and creating skilled hands in training centers or educational institutions as per need. Then, the necessary information to this effect be supplied to the administration, said district collector Sachin Kurve.

He was speaking in the meeting of district skills development working committee held in the collectorate, here on Aug 24.

Present on the occasion were chief officer of Industrial Development Corporation, J B Sangeetrao, land acquisition officer of MIHAN Ahsok Choudhary, inchage officer of Nagarpalika Prashasan, Prakash Sharma and joint director D M Goswami among others.

Kurve further said, on one hand it is not easy to get skilled man power required by industries, and on the other, the number of trained candidates from various training institutions and educational institutions is on the rise, and this being the case there is a void between quality of education and training on one side and the requirement in industries on the other side. Therefore, there is a need to enhance skills in human resource and fulfill the skill-gap. He called on all departmental heads to concentrate on this point and do the needful.
