The Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil Memorial District Open Sub-Junior Badminton Tournament organized by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA) began at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s Subhedar Hall on November 12, 2014.
Chairman of Gaikwad Patil Group Dr Mohan Gaikwad inaugurated the tournament. Dipanshu Khirwadkar of SNDL, Director of Nagpur University’s Physical Education Department Dr Dhananjay Welukar and NDBA Secretary Mangesh Kashikar also graced the function.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Gaikwad assured the SJAN that Gaikwad Patil Group will continue to sponsor the tournament in the future also. Dr Welukar urged the badminton players to utilize the newly-laid wooden badminton court properly. Kashikar and Khirwadkar also spoke on the occasion.
President of SJAN Dr Ram Thakur and SJAN Member Piyush Patil conducted the proceedings while Treasurer of SJAN Suhas Nayse proposed a vote of thanks.
