Six days after wife’s death,Butibori police book husband for murder

Nagpur News : Six days after a woman’s died of burns, Butibori police has booked her husband for her murder.
Archana Yadav had succumbed to her burn injuries during treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on November 4.

In her dying declaration, she stated that on Sunday her husband, Ramaji had set her on fire at their Indorama Colony residence in MIDC, around 5 kilometres away from Butibori. She told cops that the couple had an argument over Yadav’s drinking habit and hence during the quarrel, Ramaji hold her hands and poured kerosene on her. She added that though she was pleading for life, he lit the matchstick on her and fled away.

Her screams alerted the neighbours who rushed for her help and took her to GCMH. However, she died after an hour. Archana had blamed Yadav responsible for her death.
Police said that they got her statement on Friday evening and hence the case was registered. Yadav is still absconding.
