Sitabuldi cops arrest five accused in sensational Khatwani murder case


In a major breakthrough, Sitabuldi police succeeded in arresting five accused in the sensational Bharat Khatwani murder case. Bharat Khatwani was attacked by two masked men who stabbed him repeatedly with sharp weapons when he was sitting in his Hello World Mobile Shoppy in Telipura area of Sitabuldi. The gruesome murdered, caught on CCTV camera, occurred around 4 pm on March 7. The profusely bleeding Khatwani was taken to Suretech Hospital where he succumbed to stab injuries on March 10 while undergoing treatment. The barbaric murder had sent shockwaves across the city in general and traders in particular. At that time the Sitabuldi cops had registered murder offence against the unidentified assassins and had launched a hunt to nab them.

The hunt bore the fruits as five accused were nabbed in the murder case. The accused have been identified as Saurabh alias Amba Vilas Ambatkar, resident of Shaniwari Basti, Ganeshpeth, Shubham Devrao Ramteke (20), resident of Gujjarwadi, Ganeshpeth, Jitesh Dinesh Jadhav (20), resident of Gujjarwadi, Ganeshpeth, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Salim (32), resident of Telipura, Sitabuldi, and Akash alias Kalya Chandrasen Sarod (21), resident of Telipura, Sitabuldi.

The five accused have been booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and placed under arrest. Further investigation is underway.
