Nagpur: In a sort of relief to hundreds of Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandals in the city, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation activated a single window system for obtaining permissions to erect pandal, stage, welcome arches on public roads or footpaths. The single window system was inaugurated by Deputy Mayor Satish Holay and Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari at the premises of Fire Brigade Office at NMC Head Office.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare, Executive Engineer D D Jambhulkar, Chief Fire Officer Rajendra Uchke, Garden Superintendent Sudhir Mate, Kabour Development Officer Arun Kapse and other officials of concerned departments.
On earlier occasions, Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandals were forced to to make rounds of NMC zone offices/head office, fire and emergency services department, traffic police, police department and MSEDCL/SNDL separately for different permissions or No Objection Certificates.
In the single window section, personnel from different departments such as police, NMC, Fire Brigade and MSEDCL/SNDL will deal with the applications of Ganesh Mandals. The applicant will get a call after three days to inform that whether the application has been approved, subject to receipt of NOCs to be issued by fire, police, traffic and MSEDCL/SNDL. The applicant will be asked to pay fees of all the departments at the counter and receive permission the next day. Thus, the permission will be issued within four days of receiving the application, that too from one counter.
The specimen forms are being distributed from August 21 to 31 at all 10 zones of NMC. The forms are also available on NMC website www.nmcnagpur.gov.in and the print of the copy can be taken out.
