Nagpur/Bhopal: Of the eight SIMI terrorists who were gunned down in a failed attempt of jail break in Bhopal Central Jail, three were said to be having strong connection with Nagpur, Solapur and Aurangabad. Similarly, another terrorist Mohammed Saalik who successfully fled was in the wanted list of Anti-Terrorism Squad of Nagpur and Aurangabad. Maharashtra ATS was on alert to capture Saalik.

As the news of Bhopal jail break reached here, a massive vigil was launched on various check points including Nagpur railway station and other boundaries connecting Madhya Pradesh to Nagpur. Security agencies heaved a sigh of relief after the new filtered that all the terrorists were gunned down.

Another terrorist identified as Mohammed Khalid hailed from Solapur. Khalid was earlier active in SIMI. Later, he mysteriously disappeared from Maharashtra.
