Nagpur: In an incident that could leave any sane person stunned, a 15-year old girl was molested and beaten in her own house not only by three goons but also by neighbours and other residents of the area. The neighbours, instead of heckling the three goons, went a step ahead and abused and thrashed the helpless girl. The kid was even threatened of dire consequences if she opened her mouth. The shocking incident was reported from Jaripatka area. The three goons and several others have been booked but no arrests have been made so far in this connection.
According to police, the 15-year old girl, resident of Jaripatka area, was alone in her house on January 2. Around 3 pm, the three goons, one Kallu and two of his accomplices, forcibly entered the girl’s house and indulged in vulgar actions. When the girl shouted for help, the neighbours and other residents of the area gathered there. But instead of giving a dressing down to the three goons the residents themselves entered the girl’s house and abused her with choicest words and beat her.
The irresponsible residents even threatened to kill the helpless girl. The shell shocked girl informed Jaripatka police about the incident. A team of cops rushed to the scene and calmed down the situation.
PSI P B Khare, based on a complaint filed by the girl, has booked the three goons and others under Sections 143, 149, 294, 323, 342(C), 354, 448, 506(B), 34 of IPC read with Sub-Sections 8, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and probing the matter further. No arrests have so far been made in the case.
