Shivshahi bus knocks mentally ill man dead near NIT Plaza in Sitabuldi

Nagpur: In a tragic incident, a mentally ill man knocked dead by Shivshahi bus of MSRTC near NIT’s Parking Plaza in Sitabuldi on Monday morning. The deceased was reportedly a beggar and was in the age group of 30-35.

The Shivshahi bus (MH-09/E 1785) of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), driven by Kishore Rambhau Chandpurkar (47), resident of Jaigurudeo Nagar, Besa, was either proceeding towards Amravati or coming to city around 7 am. As the bus neared at NIT Parking Plaza near Variety Square in Sitabuldi, it hit the unidentified mentally challenged man killing him on the spot. Sitabuldi police reached the spot immediately and sent the body for post-mortem.

Sitabuldi police constable Prakash Barange, based on a complaint lodged by ASI Wakde, booked the bus driver Kishor Chandpurkar under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of the IPC and probing the case further.
