Nagpur: In the wake of a hit-and-run incident that took place late Sunday night in Sitabuldi, Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare arrived in Nagpur today. She is set to visit the Sitabuldi police station at 11 AM to discuss the case.

Upon her arrival at Nagpur airport, Andhare responded sharply to reports that the car involved in the accident was registered in the name of Samkit Bawankule, son of BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The speeding vehicle reportedly struck pedestrians, prompting Andhare to take a jibe at both Bawankule and local Congress leader Vikas Thakre.

“Was He Drinking Milk in the Bar?”

Sushma Andhare sarcastically referenced Chandrashekhar Bawankule’s claim that Samkit was not intoxicated at the time of the accident. “Bawankule, you say Samkit wasn’t drinking. His friend was drinking. So, was Samkit in the bar to drink milk?” she quipped.

Questions Over Police Handling of the Case

Andhare raised serious questions about the investigation, pointing to the rapid response of authorities. “The vehicle number I provided was indeed Samkit’s car. Why did the RTO quickly release the car? Why was the number plate removed when the car was towed?” she asked. She added, “As we keep a close eye on this case, more evidence is emerging. In just a few more hours, Samkit might even be found in the driver’s seat.”

Calls for BJP to Seek ‘Griha Shanti’

When asked about the Mahayuti alliance’s seat-sharing discussions, Andhare delivered a pointed suggestion to the BJP. “Right now, BJP needs to perform a ‘Griha Shanti’ (house peace) ritual. Everything they attempt is backfiring. Even Kirit Somaiya gave them a tough time yesterday,” she remarked.

Commenting on the ongoing demands from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar regarding seats, Andhare hinted that the BJP was using and discarding its allies. “Both sides will soon realize the true nature of the BJP. Those who get hurt will eventually learn,” she said.
