A youth was booked for romantically involving a young girl and later refusing to marry her, which led the girl to commit suicide.
24-year-old victim fell in love with accused Hafiz Sheikh, a native of Khadagpur, West Bengal. Hafiz established physical intimacy with the victim and refused to accept after she conceived. Shattered with betrayal of Hafiz and his refusal to accept the baby, she poured kerosene on self and set herself ablaze on June 4.
Imambada police registered a case of accidental death and started their investigations. Preliminary investigations revealed the state the victim was in and that she was provoked to end her life. Cops have booked Hafiz under Sections 306 of the IPC. Search for accused is on.
