Nagpur: “Separatists have no place in India. Pakistan is an apt place for separatists. They should go to that country and then oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” thundred the firebrand BJP Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy. “The way for construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya would clear only when BJP gains majority in Rajya Sabha” added Swamy.

He was interacting with media persons before speaking at a lecture series on topic ‘Role of banks in growth of MSME for employment opportunities,’ organised by Shriram Urban Co-operative Bank Limited, Nagpur and Laghu Udyog Bharati, Nagpur Vibhag here on Saturday.

Swamy minced no words in slamming the separatists in Jammu and Kashmir. “Pakistan is an apt place for separatists. They should go to that country and then oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is unable to control the separatists then she should resign and the state should be brought under President’s Rule,” demanded the BJP MP.

Commenting on ‘demand’ that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat be made next President of India, Swamy said, “Those who have no other job raise such demand. Bhagwat has himself refused the post. Therefore, raising such demand is inappropriate,” he stated.

In the backdrop of hardliner Yogi Adityanath selected as Chief Minister of Uttra Pradesh, the issue of Ram Mandir has again come to the forefront of discussions. However, Swamy said that the issue could be resolved now by bringing a law in Parliament. “When BJP gains majority in Rajya Sabha in 2018, then only such scenario is possible.”
