Nagpur: Despite educating and inspiring slogans such as “Save the girl child and save the future,” “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” and dozens of other slogans coined to spread strong message to save girl child, the disgraceful practice of annihilating them continues unabated. In this context, yet another incident of abandoning an infant girl to die was reported in city on the night of Friday (March 20). The baby girl was thrown at a secluded place in GMCH itself but by God’s grace the infant survived the merciless act on the part of an unidentified woman and the dark night as well. The baby is now being treated in the hospital.
An unidentified pervert woman abandoned her 5-7 day baby girl in the jungles just behind Mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on the road leading to Dean’s Bungalow around10.30 pm on Friday. The cruel woman had, most probably, delivered the baby girl in GMCH itself.
However, by the God’s grace, the cries of 5-7 day infant girl were heard by passersby. Police stationed at GMCH and other employees of the hospital were alerted and the baby girl was immediately taken to the Children’s Ward and is being treated. “Jako Rakhe Saiyan, Maar Sake Na Koi” (If God wants to save somebody, then nobody can kill him/her) has been proved time and again.
Ajni API Gawande, on the basis of information, has booked the accused unidentified woman under Section 317 of IPC and searching for her.
