Nagpur Today.
All through the college years, one gets guidance from multiple sources, but seldom are we grateful to our seniors for sharing their wisdom. Feeling gratitude and not expressing is like wrapping a gift and not giving it. And thus giving a farewell party to the seniors became mandatory.
After days of meticulous thinking, 2012 batch of Government Medical College, Nagpur organised a party at Bhaskar Lawns, Amravati Road on 18th of February 2016.
The whole lawn lit up at 6 pm and it was difficult to take eyes off the picturesque decoration. Customary to all college parties, the theme was to come in Western attire and indeed, everyone looked at their best. One could not expect such glamour out of MBBS students.
The evening started on a humorous note and the anchors were at their witty best, when they dedicated a special prayer to their seniors, followed by welcoming them in Gutthi-style. The main attraction of the programme was a set of interesting games. ‘Pictionary’, which is like a written Dumb-Charades, left everyone all excited about what was going to follow. Further, they played ‘Game of Thrones’ which was a recombination of musical chairs and lemon spoon race. After the exhausting race, there was time for Housie. Lastly, a brand new game, and probably the most enjoyed one as well, ‘Chal beta selfie le le re’ was played. The participating couples had to complete a list of fifteen interestingly funny selfies as quickly as possible. Also, ‘Queen of Sheeba’ and ‘Beg, Borrow and Steal’ were played in between the games. It was amazing to see that even after passing MBBS, they still found pleasure in such simple things.
The surprise element was the seniors awarding their juniors with medals stating ‘World’s Best Juniors’. The event was concluded with a movie of their pictures and a ribboned roll of the group photo taken earlier.
Someone has very rightly said, ”We thought we were just having fun, we didn’t realize we were making memories.”
