Today on 05.12.2021, Shri Sudhanshu Pandey, Secretary Food, Public Distribution and Consumers Affairs, Govt. of India, visited FCI Food Storage Depot, Wardha, held a meeting with Collector Wardha.

• He visited the FCI Food Storage Depot, Wardha and inspected the depot along with Shri M.S.Sarang, General Manager(FCI) Maharashtra, Shri. Narender Kumar, Divisional Manager, FCI Nagpur and Shri. Avinash Dabhade, AGM(QC) FCI Nagpur.During the visit the Secretary expressed satisfaction over the storage and distribution operations of the depot. The Depot is constructed in about 87 Acres. & has Railway Siding facility with 6 different Tracks. He advised for working the proposal for construction of One Lakh MT Silo at FSD Wardha.
• A meeting was held with Shri. M. S. Sarang, GM, FCI Maharashtra and Smt. Prerna Deshbhratar, Collector Wardha to review the distribution of foodgrains under NSFA/PMGKAY (Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna) & also the ongoing procurement operations. The construction of small Farm level Warehouses was also discussed. In this regard a workshop has been planned with WDRA at Nagpur covering 4 Revenue Districts of Bhandara, Gondia, Wardha & Chandrapur.
• It was followed by a visit to Bapu Kuti at Sevagram, Wardha to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
