Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone seems to have received a huge ego boost after the success of her last film Padmaavat, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. As reported by Deccan Chronicle, the actor is rumoured to only entertain author-backed roles and at the same time demands remuneration what the leading man receives and is apparently, three times more than what the A-list heroines make. A filmmaker has said Sanjay Leela Bhansali is responsible for Deepika’s latest move.
A young director was quoted by the daily who blamed Bhansali for the actress’s fee hike. “After Padmaavat, Deepika thinks she is far above the rat race. She will only entertain top-notch producers and directors and only if they come to her with the author-backed title role. She also wants creative control over the script,” he added. This is probably the reason why the actress hasn’t really announced any film post Padmaavat. The actress was supposed to begin Sapna Didi with Irrfan Khan but that did not happen due to Irrfan’s illness.
Deepika Padukone is rumoured to tie the knot with boyfriend Ranveer Singh towards the end of the year. According to reports, Singh has bought floors in the same building where his family lives. It has also been reported that construction work is going on and is being supervised by Deepika herself. Deepika was also spotted shopping with her mother outside an ornament showroom in Bandra, Mumbai. On the occasion of her father, Prakash Padukone’s 63rd birthday, Deepika has shared a picture from her childhood which makes it evident about her being close to her father. The actress was spotted back in the city after celebrating her daddy dearest’s birthday in Bangalore.
