Sangam of Social service organizations at ‘Seva Sangam’

A unique exhibition of the various ‘Social Service Organizations’ of Vidarbha called ‘Seva Sangam’ was held at Smriti Mandir Parisar ground , Reshimbagh,Nagpur from 22nd  Feb to 24th  Feb. Lok Kalyan Samiti in association with Rashtriya Swayamsevak sangh RSS had organized this event. The purpose of the Seva Sangam Exhibition was to make common people aware of the unusual and selfless work of these  social service organization for the society.

Around.85 social service organizations exhibited their charity activities. This exhibition provided a platform to charitable organizations to give information about their work to various exhibition visitors. 

While speaking to ‘NagpurToday’ Mr Sanjay N.Hardas,executive Member,Lok kalyan samiti said “ the exhibition helped bringing these social organizations and common people come closer. Stalls of these social organizations got an overwhelming response from the citizens.” 

Some the social organizations dislplaying  their charity activities at Seva Sangam. 

A Social organization ‘Tejaswani seva samiti’ of Yavatmal, Wailingi, that runs Tejaswani Chhatrawas a girls hostel for families of suicide-hit farmers from Yavatmal, Amravati, Akola and other districts are residing in the hostel. These girls are provided with education and boarding at the hostel. They are also taught self- efficient skills like computers, stiching, handicrafts  and other vocational couses informed, Sandhya shotre, caretaker of the hostel. 

Varadaan a child welfare and adoption organization works in creating awareness and a favourable and social climate conducive to promoting adoption of abandoned, destitute and orphan children. Varadaan also runs ‘eklavya Shikshan Yojana ‘ to support the educational needs of less priviledged  children . families who are unable to give basic education to their children due to economic hardships are identified and provided educational aid. 

The Seva Sangam helped in enhancing the capabilities of social service organizations and promote strategic partnerships for social services. 

Work shops on Health, Education, Village Gram Vikas were also conducted during the exhibition.

The Lok kalyan Samiti organisor of Seva Sangam consisted of Mr Madhav Urade  the convenor of the event. Mr. Prashant Bapordikar was the  Co-ordinator. Secretary-Mr Dattaji Tekade and Exe-Member-Mr .Sanjay N.Hardas.
