Nagpur: “Though Ayurveda’s benefits are known throughout the world, people still failed to acknowledge its benefits. Ayurveda is one of the simplest forms of science and should be accepted by everybody,” said Dr Mohan Bhagwat, chief, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Dr Bhagwat was speaking at ‘Sandu Sushruta Puruskar Samaroh-2018’ held at Suresh Bhat Auditorium in Reshimbag on Sunday.

The program started with the lightning of the lamp by the hand of the dignitaries. Followed by a lecture on ‘Recurrent abortion and ayurved’ by Vd Ramdas Avhad, Kopragoan. Later Sunil Deodhar, founder, My Home India presented lecture on Sandu Vicharvedh.

Dr Madan Kapre, Vaidya Shankar Pandurang Kinjawadekar, and Dr Subhash Ranade were honoured with ‘Sandu Sushruta Puruskar’ for their outstanding contribution towards Ayurveda.

The book ‘Gatha Sandu Aushadhanchi’ also was unveiled by the dignitaries.

In his speech, Dr Bhagwat said that Ayurveda had the power to heal the world. “Ayurveda is an ancient form of medication passed on to generations. Ayurveda has been practiced in India for ages and the West is just realising its benefits,” said RSS chief.

And added, “Most people are copying the West and using Allopathic treatment that provides quick results. But there are no shortcuts in life. The people leading the mission to spread awareness have to continue their efforts so that people realise the benefits and accept Ayurveda treatments willingly. It is a difficult task but it will happen over a period of time.”

Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State (AYUSH); Shashank Sandu, Director of Sandu Pharmaceuticals; Dr Pramod Sawant, MLA, Goa; Shyamrao Sandu and Umesh Sandu, both Directors of Sandu Pharmaceuticals, also shared the dais on this occasion.

More than 2,200 Ayurveda Vaidyas and other dignitaries attended the programme
