India is a country to be seen with your mind’s eye and understood with your soul. The tiny tots of Sāndipani School’s Pre-primary section unraveled the mysterious beauty, purity of Indian culture, heritage and spirituality in front of the audience through a magical Jharokha at their Annual Concert – Fledgeling Fiesta at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall.
The theme for this year was ‘Jharokha – A Window to the Unexplored India’. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp. The Chief guests were Sr. Consultant Pediatrician and Adolescent Health Specialist & Counsellor Dr. Rajiv Mohta and Deputy Editor of the Hitavada Aasawari Shenolikar.
The tiny tots opened the show with a performance on Bal Shivaji by the Infant Toddler Centre depicting our own state – Maharashtra and gradually unfurling the little known aspects of India by the kids from Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Montessori-I & Montessori-II.
The audience was left spell bound by the graceful performances showcasing the Seven Sister states, Jammu & Kashmir, Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Goa, Kerala & Tamil Nadu. The finale dance to the tune of, ‘Sare Jahan Se Accha’ added a patriotic fervor to the programme.
Research matter on the theme was done by all the Pre-primary teachers under the able guidance of Principal Shanthi Menon and Vice Principal Malka Faizuddin. Words of wisdom by School Chief Advisor Smt. Lata Thergaonkar helped in putting together a grand show.
The School President Rajashri Shrikant Jichkar, Manager Mrunalini Kale, Principal Bharti Bijwe and all the other dignitaries appreciated and applauded the efforts.
