Sand worth Rs 2.6 lakh seized

Nagpur: A truck loaded with unauthorized sand worth Rs 2.6 lakh, being transported without paying royalty, was seized on the evening of July 9 by Kalmana police. Truck driver and owner Shobharam Nagardhan, ages 32, resident of Hardoli Mohgaon, Tumsar (Bhandara), has been arrested by police.

According to police, Shobharam Nagardhan was transporting 2-brass sand by his truck No. MH 36/ F 1745. When the police posted at Pardi Naka No. 5, Bhandara Road, enquired about the sand he was caught carrying the sand without paying royalty. The police has seized sand and arrested the transporter. Further investigation is on.
