Ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona on Sunday, the giant mobile manufacturing company officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. This time, the biggest improvements in both the models (Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+) are in the camera department, with a variable aperture sensor on the primary rear camera on both phones, with a dual rear camera setup on the S9+.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are being launched in Midnight Black, Lilac Purple, Coral Blue and Titanium Grey colours, and will be available from March 16 in select markets. From March 2, it will go up for pre-orders in the United States

Price of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+

The price of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in the United States will be $719.99 for the unlocked model, or $30 per month on a 24-month financing option, while the Samsung Galaxy S9+ will be available at $839.99 for an unlocked model, or $35 per month on a 24-month financing option.

Features of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+

The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ is the dual aperture setup on the primary rear camera sensor, which has a capacity of shooting at f/2.4 when there is normal light but can switch to f/1.5 when there is low light. The company says that this helps Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ to capture 28 per cent more light compared to the Galaxy S8.

It also comes with the super slow-mo camera that works similar to what we have seen on Sony’s recent flagships. Both Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are capable of recording 960 frames per second, which means 0.2 seconds of footage becomes of 6 seconds when you are playing it back.

Samsung is also introducing AR Emoji its answer to Apple’s Animoji with a few key changes.

Both Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ look virtually identical to their predecessors.
