Nagpur: Acting swiftly, Sakkardara police rounded up seven hardcore criminals including two juvenile delinquents involved in kidnapping and extorting money from a youth as well as creating ruckus at a beer bar for money. The arrests were made within 24 hours of both the crimes.
The arrested accused in both the crimes have been identified as Mirza Zulfikar Beig Aziz Beig of Motha Tajbagh, Gaurav Rajeshwar Tale of Saraswati Nagar, Bahadura, Sheikh Ramzan Sheikh Nazir Qureshi (24) of New Mhalginagar, Akshay alias Daddu Rajesh Balbudhe (19) of Plot No. 87, New Mhalginagar, Tarachand alias Tara Bastiram Bhalavi (19) of New Mhalginagar, Prajwal Madhukar Pipre of Swagat Nagar, Hudkeshwar and two juvenile delinquents.
In the first incident, the accused trio Mirza Zulfikar Beig Aziz Beig, Gaurav Tale and Sheikh Ramzan Sheikh Nazir Qureshi kidnapped Amrut Dharmpal Diwe from Yasin Plot, Besa on October 13. The accused abductors let go Diwe home after thrashing and threatening him of dire consequences. Diwe, a resident of Plot No. D-21, Gajanan Apartment, Mhalgi Nagar, besides Besa Power House, told police he was walking home when the trio stopped him and took him to Motha Tajbagh ground. They hit him and demanded extortion money of Rs 10,000. Amrut Diwe told police that the accused had been troubling him from past few weeks. On his complaint, cops had booked the accused trio under sections 341, 363,384,387,394,506(b),323, 34 IPC and launched a manhunt to nab them.
Similarly, Sakkardara police had booked four men including the accused Sheikh Ramzan Sheikh Nazir Qureshi, Akshay alias Daddu Rajesh Balbudhe, Tarachand alias Tara Bastiram Bhalavi and Prajwal Madhukar Pipre and two juvenile delinquents for creating ruckus and threatening the owner of Premkamal Bar near Aashirwad Nagar on Ring Road and demanding Rs 10,000 as extortion money on Sunday night. The accused, armed with weapons, had also ransacked the bar. All the four had reached the bar on Sunday around 9 pm carrying swords in their hands. They first accosted the complainant bar owner and made an extortion demand for Rs 10,000. Sakardara police had registered a case under relevant sections and launched a search of the accused. The CCTV camera at the bar had captured the faces of the accused.
Acting on leads and information, the Sakkardara police rounded up all the accused in both the crimes.
