Nagpur: Throat cancer has claimed the life of one of the veteran Crime Reporters of Marathi Daily Lokshahi Varta of the city.
Known for his bold reporting, Avinash Pande aged 42 years who was ailing with throat cancer for the last two years finally breathed his last in his native home in Amravati on June 8, 2015.
Avinash Pande started his career in journalism from a local daily called Jan Madhyam Parivartan in Amravati. He then shifted to Tarun Bharat Amravati edition. From there he was transferred to Tarun Bharat Nagpur edition. After serving Tarun Bharat for a significant period, he shifted to Lokshahi Varta where he reported crime in a bold manner. He had gained quite a significant popularity among his colleagues and counterparts of other dailies.
The funeral of Avinash Pande is said to be on June 9, 2015. The journalist from the city expressed their deepest condolences and grief over his sad demise.
