Rural cops foil dacoity bid, arrest 5 members of gang in Bori, seize lethal arms, mobikes

IMG-20141111-WA0010Nagpur: Rural Police on Monday foiled a dacoity bid by arresting a gang of five members in Bori village near Umred in Nagpur District.

According to police, a patrolling team of Bori police received a tip-off around 1.30 am of Monday that some persons were hiding near Dream School premises and were planning a dacoity. Acting on the tip-off, the cops rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused five members of the gang namely Rameshwar Ukdya Charpe (24) of Bori, Ramesh Gokul Thakur (28) of Pardi, Ramnath Naitam Verma (36) of Nageshwar Nagar, Vijay Pandurang Kamble (18) of Bori and Sampat Ramdayal Chahure (34) of Pardi. Police recovered three knives, one sword, four torches, iron rods, chain, four mobile phones and Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle (MP-22/AP 7992), Passion motorcycle (MH-40/U 2279) from their possession.

Bori police booked all the five accused under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC and Sub-Sections 4, 25 of Arms Act and placed them under arrest.
