RTMNU to suspend Prof Shoma Sen

Nagpur: Dr Siddharth Vinayak Kane, the Vice-Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) informed that the university’s standing council had given its legal opinion in favour of suspending Ms Shoma Sen from the post of Associate Professor.

Ms Shoma Sen is among the five persons, who have been arrested by Pune Police on the allegations of organizing Elgaar Parishad in Bhima-Koregaon in January. The other accused in the case are Sudhir Dhawle of Republican Panthers, advocate Surendra Gadling, social activist Mahesh Raut and activist Ronna Wilson.

The university administration has decided that Prof Shoma Sen, who was working as Associate Professor with the RTMNU, should be suspended following her arrest in the case.
