Nagpur News: An RTMNU (Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University) programme that will enable students to study for and earn two separate degrees simultaneously has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and is expected to be implemented very soon.

Nagpur University students will be able to work at a second degree, diploma or post- graduate diploma alongside their regular degree course, once the new programme is implemented. The second degree can also be under an open University, and the students choice is not restricted to Nagpur University alone.

The programme, which was approved by the UGC after it went through the report of an expert committee headed by Professor Farooq Ahmed, will be highly beneficial for students who wish to study a lot but cannot commit many years to academics, for monetary or other reasons. The approval was given after a UGC meeting on October 29, according to reports.
