CM accepts the demand to implement VII Pay Commission recommendations

Nagpur: It is a good news for all the employees and officials of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), as the State government has issued a notification instructing the concerned to implement the recommendations of VII Pay Commission. The employees of all the universities and teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges under the Maharashtra government will be benefited with this move.

The new notification of the government clarifies the eligibility criteria of senior officials of the university, which would pave the way for hike in salaries of all the staffers. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has also issued clear instructions regarding implementation of VII Pay Commission, which the State government has also accepted following which it issued the notification.

Accordingly, the salary of pro-vice-chancellor will be Rs 2,10,000 per month with additional allowance of Rs 11,280. Similarly, the package includes stipulated Rs 10,000 academic grade pay and pay band of Rs 34,00-67,000 with Rs 9,000 special monthly package. For the principals and associate professors working in the academic level 12-A, a special package of Rs 4,500 has been included. Those working in the academic level 14 will get monthly benefit of Rs 6,000 in addition to the monthly pay of Rs 1,44,000. The basic pay for assistant professors has been fixed to Rs 53,820 with a substantial hike in the monthly pay.

The teaching and non-teaching staff had launched agitation demanding pay hike as per the VII pay commission.
