Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has been awarded “A” Certificate by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Nagpur City has a reason to cheer on as Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has been awarded “A” Certificate by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). RTMNU on Wednesday 10, 2014 received the mail from NAAC confirming the gradation.
Nagpur University Administration had made all out efforts to impress upon National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team during its visit on September10, 2014. Every five years the universities are inspected for gradation.
During the last visit of NAAC, Nagpur University had to be content with ‘B’ Grade. But this year, with the improvement in the infrastructure, teachers’ strength and research initiatives, RTMNU got ‘A’ Grade. The ‘internal quality assurance cell’ of RTMNU under former Acting Vice Chancellor Anoop Kumar had worked hard to remove any hurdles during NAAC visit.
NAAC had assessed the university on some important factors including Curricular Aspects, Research and Consultancy and Extension, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance, Leadership and Management and Innovations and Best Practices.
The NAAC committee gives emphasis on the works done to upgrade syllabus, research work, appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff. RTMNU has in preparation for this has focused on introducing credit base system, semester pattern and recruitment of teachers. RTMNU has decided to impress the NAAC team and to convince them that they are adhering to all the rules and regulations prescribed in the University regulations.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Vinayak Deshpande said it is a huge achievement and proud moment for the students, teachers and staff of RTMNU and for the people of Nagpur. It is the fruit of the efforts put in by Ex VC Dr Vilas Sapkal, Ex Pro VC Dr. Mahesh Yenkie and the confidence that was brought in by Ex Acting VC Anoop Kumar. With University getting “A” Grade , my responsibilities have also increased to maintain the esteem of the university and take it further to new heights .
