Rs 1 lakh stolen from CA’s flat in Subhash Nagar

Nagpur: Miscreants targeted two houses including a Chartered Accountant’s residence and relieved them of gold ornaments and cash totalling Rs 2.72 lakh. The thefts occurred in Pratap Nagar and Lakadganj areas.

The Chartered Accountant Sumit Ukode, staying at Plot No. 05, Flat 6/6, Triveni Apartment, Subhash Nagar, Nagpur as a tenant, went out for work around 3 pm on Wednesday. At the same time, the accused Nikhil Anant Tiwalkar, a native of Amravati but staying with the Chartered Accountant in Nagpur, took the advantage of the situation and stole a cash of Rs 1,00,000 Ukode had kept in a bag. The accused Nikhil later went absconding.

Pratap Nagar PSI Shinde, based on a complaint filed in this connection, has registered an offence against the accused Nikhil Tiwalkar under Section 379 of IPC and searching for him.

In the second incident, goons struck at the house of Digvijay Bharat Vanjari (24) situated at Plot No. 722, opposite Jagannath Swami Temple, Nagpur. The burglars entered Digvijay’s house through an open door when he was busy in decoration work for installation of Lord Ganesh idol in the first floor. The thieves audaciously went to the bedroom of Digvijay on the second floor and decamped with gold-silver jewellery and cash of Rs 1,500 collectively valued at Rs 1,72,500.

Lakadganj PSI Rathod has booked the burglars under Section 380 of IPC and mounted a search to nab them.
