‘Rotary Club of Nagpur Fort’ to organize Vth Cyclethon

Nagpur News : With the moto of bringing cycle back as a means of transport and encourages denizens of Nagpur to more use of cycles for Good Health, Protection of Environment & Fuel Conservation. Rotary Club of Nagpur Fort is organizing the Cyclethon 2014. Cycling is a health booster and it is healthier than running or walking says cardiac experts.

Cyclethon is an annual event organized by Rotary Club of Nagpur Fort and is being held at Dr Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies & Research Deekshabhoomi, on February 23 at 7 am. This was informed by President Dr Sharmila Kulkarni .

Cyclethon is a cycle rally organized with the objective of Cycling for Good Health, Environment Protection & Fuel Conservation. This is the 5th year in a row of organizing this successful event. There are different cycling distances i.e 1 km, 4 km, 8 km 15 km and 22 km. Participants can choose their cycling distance and routes will be allotted to them accordingly.

This year there is a special emphasis on encouraging women cyclists and girl students to participate. There is a Special trophy for the largest girl contingent from any school. Best participating school will get a Trophy. Five cycles will be awarded by Lucky Draw. Special invitees are Differently Abled Children from “Sweekar” who want to say- “We are Capable! Only Differently Abled!”

Forms are available at the Venue on February 21 and February 22 between 12 to 5 pm. Each participant will get a T-shirt and refreshments. Registration is limited to first 2000 participants. The main sponsors of this event are Srikrishna Hridyalaya and BSA Hercules.

The Project Director Rotarian Mahesh Gone, Project Chairman Rotarian Milind Khasnis and Secretary Rotarian Vaishali Barai have invited all the cyclists to a refreshing cycling morning full of Fun Fitness & Freedom!

The Highlights of the fifth Cyclethon are Five cycles to be awarded by lucky draw, expected gathering of around 3000 participants, flag off and participation by eminent personalities, special route for the physically challenged, each participant to get a T-shirt and  refreshments. However participants are required to bring their own cycles. The Registration fee is only Rs 50/- for school children and Rs 100/- for others.
