Road mishaps claim lives of 3 men in separate incidents

Nagpur: Road accidents claimed lives of three persons and left two others injured, one of them seriously on Thursday.

In the first incident, Virendra Vijay Markande (21) was killed and his friend Rahul Bisen (20) suffered serious injuries after their motorcycle rammed into a trailer truck (NL01/2388) on Kapsi Bridge.

Virendra and Rahul, both residents of Naveen Nagar, Pardi, were going on a motorbike. Virendra, who was riding the bike at a high speed, tried to overtake the trailer truck. Suddenly, he lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the trailer truck from behind. Virendra was killed on the spot. Injured Rahul was rushed to Government Medical College & Hospital.

In the second incident, 64- year-old Sajjansingh Mangalsingh Sandhu, who was injured after being hit by a truck (MH-40/BG-9659) in Kapil Nagar area on July 17, succumbed to his injuries during treatment in Government Medical College & Hospital. The driver, Devendra Ratiram Yadav, native of Uttar Pradesh, hit Sandhu while reversing his truck. Sandhu was admitted to the hospital where he died onThursday.

Kapil Nagar Police registered an offence under Sections 279 and 304(A) of the IPC against the trucker.

A rashly driven truck (MH-40/BV-8951) knocked dead a cyclist in front of Ashok Fabrication Works on Hudkeshwar Road. The deceased whose identity could not be established so far was in his 50s. The truck driver fled the spot fearing public violence.

Hudkeshwar Police registered a hit-n-run case under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC, read with Sections 184, 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act, against the driver and started investigations.
