Nagpur News.

Coming up to the next in our series highlighting the blatant encroachment of maximum portion of city roads by large number of upscale hospitals and commercial establishments which block the space for their own parking purpose, here’s taking a close look at the busy stretch from Bajaj Nagar Square to VNIT gate in Nagpur. The commuters visiting this stretch often wonder over the clutter of cones distinctly scattered across the road.

Not only the doctors, but the small time shopkeepers and commercial establishements facing the busy city roads have been applying the similar tactics to encroach upon spaces – placing cones to prevent parking opposite their shops.

Interestingly the traffic cops who patrol routinely through this stretch fail to bother much about the encroachment

Two Furniture shops Om Trading Co who deals in Furniture and Pioneer Publications / Atul Furniture & Interiors have placed cones to block space on the road for parking of their owner’s car. The Om Trading Co has the audacity to place cones around the owner’s car invading driving space on the road. Is the car so pricy or very important that cone have to place around it?

Exclusive Parking...!! “Whose road is it anyway?” Perhaps this is the question that crops up any commuter’s mind when they see the road opposite Om Furniture at Bajaj Nagar blocked for personal parking.

Is the RTO and the Traffic Department blind to see such excesses by high and mighty people? When a small vehicle parked on the side is promptly removed, for reasons like hindering smooth flow of traffic, are they not seeing such violations or they don’t want to?

One of the shopkeeper places cones till he arrives. Once he arrives, he removes the cones on this same stretch. The name of the business establishment is not displayed by any board.
