Rishi Kapoor Claims RK Studios Had Become A ‘White Elephant’

A day ago, there were reports that the Kapoor family has decided to sell their sprawling RK Studios in Chembur after it was gutted in a fire mishap last year and confirming the decision, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor claims that it was a ‘level-headed’ decision based on the fact that RK Studios had become a ‘white elephant’.

Kapoor claimed that they were initially juggling with the idea of renovating the place with state-of-the-art technology, but the investment in rebuilding the studio would just not have yielded sufficient revenue to keep it going and hence, a decision was taken to sell it off. Rishi added that even before the fire mishap last year, the studio had been facing losses.

RK Studios, the headquarters of the film production company RK Films, was founded and named after Raj Kapoor in 1948.
