Republic Day function organised by Western Region Transmission System-I(Powergrid)

Nagpur News : Executive director (WR-I) Bharat Bhushan has said that Powergrid faces many challenges and targets from corporate Centre.

He was speaking at the 64th Republic Day function organised by Western Region Transmission System-I headquarters of Powergrid Corporation of India Limited here.

Bharat Bhushan also unfurled the national flag at Administrative Building and Sampriti Nagar Township. During his address, Bharat Bhushan congratulated the employees for their significant contribution in transmission system construction, operation and maintenance.

“In order to achieve the targets, we should work with team spirit. This will be the true patriotism shown towards the nation, Bharat Bhushan further said.

On this occasion, patron of WR-I Ladies Club Republic Day celebration, Manorama Bhushan, general manager (projects); Jebakar James, general manager(O&M) V K Khare, general manager (Comml), C M Verghese, deputy general manager (Human Resources); K Palaniappan, senior executives, employees and their family members were present at large.

On this auspicious occasion, patriotic songs were presented by members of Sankalp Mahila Samiti, Nagpur. Various amusing games and competitions were also organised for employees and family members by Powergrid Employees Welfare Association (PEWA). The prizes of various competitions organised by PEWA and Sankalp Mahila Samiti were also distributed.

Members of Sankalp Mahila Samiti were felicitated for their valuable contributions in intra-regional cultural meet.

Deputy manager (HR) R W Wasnikar coordinated the programme. DGM(HR) K Palaniappan welcomed the guests and chief manager (HR) K G Kulkarni, proposed a vote of thanks.

A newly constructed office of Regional Transmission Assets Management Centre (RTAMC) was inaugurated on this occasion.

Intra-regional quiz competition 2013 was also organised at Sabrang Hall, RHQ, Nagpur.

Employees from various substations and sites of Powergrid (WR-I) participated actively.
