
Nagpur: The city’s medical fraternity was plunged into grief following the sudden death of eminent neurosurgeon and neurologist Dr Chandrashekhar Pakhmode, who passed away after suffering a massive heart attack in the early hours of Wednesday, December 31. He was 50.
Dr Pakhmode, attached to Neuron Hospital in Dhantoli, reportedly collapsed after a sudden myocardial infarction. Doctors immediately initiated emergency life-saving measures, and prolonged cardiopulmonary resuscitation was administered through the early morning hours. Senior cardiologists from Nagpur rushed to attend him and provided advanced care, but despite sustained and intensive medical efforts, he could not be revived.
Widely respected for his clinical excellence, Dr Pakhmode was known for handling complex neurological and neurosurgical cases with precision and confidence. Over the years, he emerged as one of the most trusted specialists in the region, significantly contributing to the advancement of neurosurgical services in Nagpur and nearby districts.
