Recruitment scam: ACB books top functionaries of Chandrapur Coop Bank

: Giving a twist to the clerk recruitment scam in Chandrapur District Central Cooperative Bank in 2013, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday registered an offence and launched investigations. The ACB has booked the then Chairman of the Bank Shekhar Dhote, the then District Sub-Registrar Madan Ahire, the then Chief Officer Vijay Khedikar, five Director and three others for their alleged role in the clerk recruitment scam.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered the offence at Ramnagar Police Station in Chandrapur. The ACB has carried out search operations at 14 places across the state including Nagpur, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, and Chandrapur.

Corruption charges were levelled against the office-bearers of the bank and the recruiting agency MKCL in connection with the recruitment of clerks in the year 2013. The then SP of Nagpur Anti-Corruption Bureau P R Patil had pursued the case. Deputy SP Milind Totre, and other personnel namely Roshan Yadav, Dnyandeo Ghuge, Vijay Mahulkar, and Shankar Shelke had participated in the investigation.
