Nagpur: In an awful incident, a 42-year old woman attempted suicide by slashing her vein and consuming sleeping pills after a man raped her in her own house in Koradi area here on Friday night. The woman has been admitted in Mayo Hospital for treatment. The pervert rape accused has been arrested.
According to police, the victimised woman, a resident of Koradi area, was alone at her house on Friday night. Between 7.30 pm and 8 pm, the accused Dinesh Chunnilal Shahu (32), resident of Shivkrishna Slums, barged into the woman’s house forcibly and raped her. Unable to bear the shame, the woman attempted to end her life by cutting vein of her hand and by consuming 8-9 sleeping pills.
Koradi PSI S M Munde, based on the statement of the rape survivor, booked the accused Dinesh Chunnilal Shahu under Sections 376(1), 306 of the IPC and arrested him. The woman has been admitted in Mayo Hospital and undergoing treatment.
