Apart from Rape case, case under Atrocities Act too was slapped on the accused PSI.
Nagpur: When law enforcers break the law, the society sees the act as more heinous and more criminal in intensity. In another strange incident, cases of Rape and Atrocities were registered against a Police Sub Inspector of Hudkeshwar Police Station.
According to information, the cases of rape (under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 3 (1) and 12 of The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention Of Atrocities) Act, 1989 No. 33 Of 1989 were registered against a Police Sub Inspector Vinod Laxman Mandre.
According to sources, the accused Police Sub Inspector Vinod Laxman Mandre was a native of Akot village in Pavni Tehsil, District Bhandara falling within the jurisdiction of Adyal Police Station.
The accused and the victim hailed from the same village. Both of them used to be in love right from the time when they were studying in the VIIIth class. After passing his Xth class, he got selected as Police Constable while the girl finished her XIIth Class in Science and was pursuing her graduation in Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
The accused PSI Vinod Mandre appeared in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) and became a Police Sub Inspector. Earlier he was serving in Kamptee Police Station. When he was serving in the Kamptee Police Station, the victim was living in Besa and was pursuing her Final Year of Graduation in Bachelor of Pharmacy.
Sources close to the victim claimed that both the victim and the accused had developed physical relations right from the village itself and continued in Nagpur city too. The accused used to take the victim to many of his friends’ house to establish physical relationship with the victim.
However, since the commission of crime started right from the village Akot village in Pavni Tehsil, District Bhandara the Police officials of Adyal Police Station will be investigating into the case to ascertain various facts.
Presently the Hudkeshwar Police has registered a zero case; the Adyal Police personnel will only arrest the accused Police Sub Inspector Vinod Laxman Mandre.
